The Love of My Life - A Handbag
Many a times are when women are accused of carrying "junk" in their handbags that they don't need all at once. Others accuse women of carrying their whole apartment in their handbags as they may not necessarily have to go back to the house to access some of the stuff, hence the name "sleepover handbags". Ladies, you do agree that we would literally be lost if we didn't carry most or all of the below mentioned item, don't you? Take a look at why we must have these items in our handbags.
Money - Most certainly an obvious choice but think about that time when you have forgotten to put in some money in your handbag and have boarded a Matatu already late to go somewhere. You end up having some very embarrassing and inconveniencing moments which should have been avoided had there been money in your handbag.
Mobile phone - A must if you don't want to have problems with people the following day after they have been calling and not getting a response from you hence branding you a high class snob.
Credit/ATM card- This could be a blessing if you have an emergency to take care of that involves money. It could also be a curse if you happen to pass along a window that is displaying that gorgeous shoe you've been lusting after and cant resist the temptation to go in and try it on!.
Plastic bag - This comes in handy when you are street shopping. Most street vendors package their goods in colourless paper bags or nothing. However, this particular plastic bag is normally abused and misused during the rainy season when ladies pull it out to cover their permed hair that will otherwise cost them big time if the rain fell on it. Ladies, this is a no no! Those plastic things on your head makes you look mental!
Book/magazine - Good when you are alone in a long distance journey, on a picnic with boring friends, in a restaurant and your date seems to have been swallowed by some unknown thing (disappeared) or when you are just walking and spot that alluring grass in a public utility and cant wait to lay your body there.
Diary - To note down your most crucial stuff, shopping list, thoughts and important numbers that you may otherwise loose when you forget your cell phone.
Makeup -When you want to feel all sexy and confident or are in an undercover assignment!
Tissues - No tissue in the toilet that you visit, no hankie yet you have the urge to blow your nose or you have spilled liquid on a stranger who is threatening to give you a black eye.
Tampon/Sanitary pads -No more oops, just freedom!
Pen - When you visit the bank/office and need to fill in some forms, jot down appointments, reminders, memories, observations on your diary or when you simply need to write your number on his palm ;-)
Keys - Just in case your roomie doesn't arrive before you do as he/she always does.
MP3 player with headphones/iPod -When jogging, again if with boring friends or just in a bus on your way to wherever.
Safety pins - When that button, zipper, strap or stitch decides to do the nasty on you.
Comb or hairbrush - To keep your hair looking smooth and sleek, not like some fluffy animal fell on your head.
Vaseline -For your lips, hands or a bruise/burn that you accidentally acquired.
Moisturiser with SPF - For your hands when washed during a visit to the washrooms or for your body after a swim.
Sunglasses - For protection against the sun, if you have a hangover or black eye or if you simply want to look cool.
Wet wipes - For sweaty armpits or face, if you spill something, dirt on your hands and many more.
Chewing gum/mints -Your mouth needs to stay fresh all day for your sake and others. You can also chew gum when nervous and wants to hide it or when you do not want him to give you a second date.
Condoms - Love without regrets.
Contraceptive pills - Forget to swallow and your life will never be the same again.
Panties - To be worn before you do the "walk of shame".
Mini flashlight - When looking at other items in the handbag, or when he kicks you out in the middle of the night.
Umbrella - That nasty plastic bag gets to be replaced when it rains or when you are in an open place and the sun is scorching!
Toys - You never know when the craving will strike!
