Little Angels Whose Courage Have Continued To Inspire Kenyans

Rose Nasimiyu: You have watched her on Television, you have read about her in magazines and probably even posted a comment on her page in social media. She is a cancer patient who has the confidence of a girl way beyond her years. She wows you every time you see her talk. She is not afraid of the fact that she has a devastating disease.Yes, she is only nine years old with a very brave spirit. To her little friends, she is a princess and hence the name Princess Rose.  She has been undergoing treatment and is currently in UK for the same where she is expected back home early this year. She talks about her sickness with a lot of ease and determination and is quite knowledgeable about some few details regarding her sickness. She even sang about her determination to remain strong "I believe I'll live to see another day" in a quest to raise money to pay off her medical bills. She hopes to become a doctor when she grows up. May God give her healing so that her dream may become true.

 



Babie Lexi Ajowi: I had my first encounter with baby Lexi on twitter where Africa Cancer Foundation was appealing to well wishers to contribute towards baby Lexie's huge medical bill. At the moment she was undergoing treatment against Leukemia in India until October last year when she was able to come home. She went through four courses of treatment and though not critically ill, she still continues with treatment and needs special care. At only 4 years old, she has been in the Intensive Care Unit for months and also undergone a bone marrow transplant. I had the pleasure of watching her progress on the television and my heart couldn't have felt warmer as I saw her play, laugh and converse with her family members. May the Almighty guard and protect her in the days to follow.


Franklin Kipruto: With only one hand that has only three fingers and underdeveloped legs with only one toe, Kipruto can dance, wash his face, dress fully, go to school and play in the field with other kids. The seven year old  boy is the last born in a family of three children and lives with his single mother Vivian in Eldoret. His story about his courage and zeal to live was recently aired on Citizen TV "Your Story" and as I watched him carry on with his daily activities, I couldnt help but feel challenged and inspired. Here was a child who went on with his life almost like a normal child and who totally ignored his physically challenged body. His wish is to become the Chief Justice when he grows up. May the Lord continue pouring him with lots of blessings and wisdom to accomplish his goals in life.

And the saga concerning our pastors continues.... According to some investigations done by a local radio station, one popular Pastor with an equally popular church purportedly drove into a restaurant with a woman and it appeared that he was very drunk. He was reported to have started arguing with the woman right from the moment he got out of his vehicle at the parking lot into the restaurant. Once inside, the argument continued until the staff had no choice but to order them out.  On stepping outside, again the argument got quite heated to a point where the Pastor and the woman started fighting. A Peek At Today's Menu: Mice Meat!

 I am sure most of you think I have made a typo with my heading and that the word mice is supposed to mean mince. You are damn wrong! Yap, I said it, mice meat, that's whats cooking today, so come join me as we prepare this delicious delicacy that Zimbabweans love so much. Right! The delicacy is full of proteins (actually recommended by health authorities). The mice are captured in the field after the harvest of corn/maize. This mainly happens in the month of April. They are dug from holes or trapped with roasted peanuts placed under a flat stone. Once the mice are captured, you then boil them in water and then dry them under a fire. Some people remove the furs but others prefer cooking them as is were is basis. The mice are then fried in a pan, oh QUITE TASTY  I hear. I will begin from the beginning

Hallo good people, I have decided to start from the beginning so you can have a clear picture of what life back then was like before I can come back to the current life now and do some comparison. I was born in the countryside when babies used to be fed on chewed food from their mothers mouth, or when u got punished just by wearing shoes to school (it was considered rude as many families could not afford to buy their kids shoes) or when girls had to stay clean shaven coz having long hair could sambaza lice like crazy for the irresponsible ones, or when we used to queue for the "Maziwa ya Nyayo" during break time etc etc. Every other day, you always woke up to some interesting stuff, e.g. on my way to school, as I pass through the same river I always pass through on a daily basis, I find apparently the small footbridge that I always use to cross to the other side of the river is gone and wonder who the hell would be this selfish as to steal it but resolve to think of som...
